What a fantastic day! Miguel has been with me almost all day, Christmas shopping is finished and movies will ensue a little later after the chocolate syrup and ice cream has been bought.
Life could not be better.
Wait, it could. My knee could be in tip top shape instead of being inflamed for over the last 42 hours. The pain could subside, and the skin could quickly grow back.
Folks, don't try gymnastics or super cool climbing moves on your Hubby. Especially when that Hubby moves and you land hard on your left knee.
The pain, the terrible pain! Okay, a bit of an exaggeration, but as I try to walk down the stairs or put my leg in the car, well let's just say I think I have reached my pain tolerance level.
Thank goodness for ibuprofen. It's amazing, along with ice filled baggies.
Hopefully the skin will grow back, and the swelling will completely reduce to nothing.
Other than that, Christmas has been bought, almost wrapped and one left to send. :) I feel very accomplished. It helps to have a strong Hubby to hold your hand and walk slow down the aisles.
Miguel is loving his new job at Kabuki! The people he works with are nice, married and give him compliments on what a nice job he is doing. He can eat all the rice he wants, along with soup and soda. Can't complain much, can he? ;)
To Those Who Think We Have Disappeared,
We are actually still alive and well in Logan. No worries, we haven't forgotten about you. We just have gotten a bit busy, but we want to share with you some of the happy moments in our brand new life together.
Check on us often, and enjoy!
Toodles,
Miguel & Ambria

Congrats!
Miguel picked up a second job over the break. :) He is working some nights at Kabuki, the Japanese restaurant by our house.
If this job turns out to be better than Fox's Pizza, and if Miguel gets the job on campus that he wants, goodbye late night during the week.

Stylin'
Today was quite the day, and it isn't even over with yet.
Miguel got a hair cut, note the picture, and an interview with a Kabuki, a Japanese restaurant by our house. :)
He goes in for the interview tomorrow! I told him to shave, no worries. ;)
I did not get a hair cut today, but I did drive a very nice, cherry red, 2011 Ford Mustang today. No big deal, right? I had that opportunity due to an Avis First Member needing a ride home. So, from Avis in Logan to his house in Wellsville I went. Great car. Great lookin' girl in that car. :)
I did happen to let Miguel park it for me. It's the least I could do.
We got the Christmas package from mãe and pai. Obrigada! :)
The presents will look great under our cute little Christmas tree from Mom and Dad.
I got my Christmas check today. Well, my paycheck, but it feels like a Christmas check.
Miguel has a super busy day tomorrow at work and an interview. Good thing that's at 10:30 and part one of two shifts starts at 11. Good luck to him tomorrow!
No word on the final grades for his classes, but test results for Biology and Physics have shown up. Fantastic in Biology and decent in Physics. I think they just need better professors up here teaching the Engineering classes.
Anyway, have a good weekend!

One Test Down...
Finals Week. The most dreaded week for a college student. Many of them do their last minute studying and calculate the lowest score they can get to pass their class. Countless of hours in the library or in study groups cannot save them all, sadly.
Miguel spent quite a bit of time studying for his Calculus final, but I think we both have decided, along with everyone else in the class, that no matter how much studying you do, no one is going to get an A on the final. Mind you, this is his French Calculus professor that he has had to deal with all semester long. This is the professor that tells you to study one thing and puts something else on the test. We are both a little anxious to see what his final score is on the test and in the class. We're hoping it is a passing grade. :)
Today's final is for USU 1350, Biology. This final is later today, so he isn't too worried about studying for it. Miguel does a pretty great job on his biology tests, and from the looks of it, he might just pass this class with a few flying colors. Too bad he doesn't want to go into biology... ;)
Tomorrow's final is Physics. Miguel isn't worried too much for this test. He has had a decent teacher this go around and has a fantastic study buddy, Mitch. Mitch was one of Logan's companions in Mozambique, and we have adopted him as a younger brother, to both of us, for the time being. The two of them have Physics, Physics Lab and Physics Recitation together. They spend a lot of time together. Hopefully the both pass this class and can get into a class together next semester!
Keep Miguel in your prayers, and hopefully he'll pass all three of his tests. I can't believe that our first semester of school as a married couple is already over with! How time flies when you're having fun. :)

Portuguese Club
Everyone has heard of a Spanish Club, French Club or even an ASL Club when it comes to Foreign Languages, but have you heard of a Portuguese Club? I hadn't until just last week when Miguel sent me an email about an activity that was happening 12/08/11 at the Legacy Village Club House asking me if I wanted to go. Knowing quite a few of the members on the committee, I agreed to join Miguel for a night full of fun.
We picked up Mitch from his apartment around 6:45pm and headed over to Legacy Village Apartments. Once we arrived I found a few familiar faces and few new ones, for both of us actually.
Mingling we did with those we knew and those we did not. After 10-15 minutes of socializing, we sat down and started the with some presentations.
Miguel was the first to present about Christmas in Portugal. Thanks to Luis, Miguel was able to give a great presentation about traditional food and activities that happen during Christmas. Of course it wasn't in Portuguese, but it was fun to hear all of them banter back and forth with their Portuguese phrases and words. One day, we are going to spend Christmas in Portugal... I hope. ;)
We had another committee memeber then present to us about Christmas in Brazil. Talk about Americanized Christmas. ;) He served a mission in Brazil, so his Portuguese wasn't "real" Portuguese. ;) Actually, 2 out of the 6 only spoke really Portuguese. Mckay also says he loved it what Miguel would talk to Luis on the phone, because it had been too long since he had heard the sing song version of the beautiful language. His words, trust me.
We had some amazing food while we were there too. :) I can't spell them in Portuguese, I'm not that good yet. But, they were amazing.
I just love the fact that we have a Portuguese community here in Logan. It's the first year that the Portuguese club has been around, so we are expecting some wonderful activities next semester!
Anyone have any ideas on kinds of activities or food to bring up with the committee members?

Social Networking
For the past few weeks or so, I found us constantly on Facebook, more me than Miguel, but that's to be expected. I'd find any excuse to snag my phone and quickly update myself on what was going on in everyone else's lives. Endless "stalking" of other people and their accomplishments, or how their day had been going. Frankly, it became a time consuming monster. This monster plagued my days with, well endless amounts of time wasting.
Not only do I waste a lot of time on Facebook, I find that I'm more apt to a low self-esteem when I see all the "amazing" things people put up on FB. I judge me and my lack of curing world hunger or something or other. Now, I know that people aren't always doing amazing things as their status would say. This is the other side of the monster that Facebook likes to flaunt in the open. I'm talking about the "sad" Facebook posts. The "my life sucks, and I can't seem to find worth in anything that I do." Maybe their life does suck at the moment, but that isn't something I want to deal with anymore.
People say, "just delete those people that are depressing or that you don't like reading what they have to say." Well, that wouldn't do any good. Eventually someone else will pick a far left or far right, which ever they decide is best for them, and the process will start over again.
Facebook has been a great way to keep in touch with family and friends that actually "like" what you have to say on Facebook, or may even comment on your silly photo. It's been wonderful to upload photos for family in Utah, Oregon, California and other places to see how we've been doing. It's easier than blogging, that's for sure. I'll give Facebook back one of it's points that I stole earlier for being a great way to keep in touch.
See where my dilema is at? Keep Facebook to stay in touch better with family members, the "lazy" way, and endure endless hours of nothing? Or delete it all together and find creative ways to stay in touch with those that I want to stay in touch with?
Today, my friends, I have slain my monster. I deactivated Facebook. It's a temporary thing, through the holidays mainly, but if it works out that I prefer my monster slightly medium rare, then I think I'll have that monster cooked. :)
*Also, thanks to everyone that reads our blog. I know it hasn't been that great lately. I admit, I've been a slacker. I can't just blame Facebook for my laziness, but it's a big part of it. Now that Facebook has been deactivated for the time being, the blog will get more of my attention. :)

Snow
Snow, dear snow, why on earth have you decided to fall tonight? I mean, all day was just fine with me and Miguel, but really?
It decided to snow here in Logan, I'm sure everywhere else in Utah too, and I'm not sure if either of us are going to survive! ;)
Send us some luck! Or, better yet, send us a love package. :) A letter would be fantastic too! We are quite lonely and only receive bills and junk.
Save us from the snow by distracting us with your lovely words of comfort.
Loves,
Miguel and Ambria
Included is a picture taken at Avis around 5:15pm today. It's probably a lot worse now. I don't even want to think about tomorrow...

Weekend in a Nutshell
Friday: Both of us had to work. Me from 11-6 and Miguel from 5-12:30ish. Yep, he was there for a very long time. I wasn't a fan. But, the USU vs. BYU Basketball game was that night, and I watched it at Fox's. It was a great game! Aggies: 69. BYU: 62. I did not doubt our team, not even for a minute. While I was situating my seat and the remote for the game, a gentleman and his son sat down at the table next me while trying to have a conversation with me about, oh, the gentleman's life. I say, I must have a sign on my face, that I cannot see, that says Please Tell Me Your Life Story. I am very interested. It happened two more times after that too. Oh well. I found out a lot about people that like to eat pizza.
Saturday: A nice day to sleep in. Well, since Miguel didn't get off of work until after the scheduled time, we thought we deserved a nice morning to relax and sleep. :) It worked! After painfully waking up and getting ready, we made our way down to South Jordan. My parents treated us a to a movie at the Megaplex at the District. Jack and Jill was the movie that went to see. It was pretty decent. Probably not the best movie in the world, but a good one at that. My advice: Wait for it to come out on Redbox. It might be worth $1.29 and comfy seat in your own home.
After a fun day of movies and trying to decide what to do with our evening, we ended up settling down for the night. Miguel and I watched a few movies, notably Crazy Stupid Love with Steve Carell. Quite possibly one of the best movies out there. :)
Sunday: A typical Sunday with lots of family time. :) We played Rummy before Miguel and I had to leave. I was 5pts away from winning. Sigh. It is going to happen next time, I promise.
We had a wonderful weekend, and want to know, what did you guys do this weekend? Anything exciting? ;)
Toodles!

Filling You In
Almost a month has passed by, and I have been a little too lax on filling everyone in on what's been going on. The only thing is that not too much has been going on! Hahaha. Nothing too grand to really report on, but I will find something to talk about. :)
Well, Halloween came and went. We didn't do much for it, only because I worked the Saturday before, and Miguel worked Halloween Night. I did dress up a little bit when I was by myself, and if I have to courage to post my cute kitty face on the blog, maybe I'll go ahead and do that. :) It was pretty amateur, but hey, one day when we have little ones I can perfect the face paint!
Miguel has been really busy with school the past couple of weeks. In the past 3 weeks, that is including this week, he has had 4 tests. One in Calculus, two in Physics (his next one is tomorrow! Wish him luck) and Biology. He ended getting a 92% on his Biology test. We're pretty proud, and I wonder why he doesn't just go into Biology... But that's out of the question. He claims that he isn't a biologist. We're both really glad that he is starting to understand the material in all of his classes.
Registration is on Tuesday, and he is super excited to try out some Electrical Engineering classes, but he isn't too sure what it is he wants to go into.
Now, if Miguel decides on what he really wants to do, we might have the possibility to go to OSU for school in the fall. He just needs to decide if going to OSU will help his schooling, then off we go. :) But, it's still up in the air. So we'll have to see.
I've been doing pretty well, and life has been good. I've been "Pinteresting" a lot of our meals the last little while, and I've been baking up a storm!
Last night I made Banana Frosting for my super soft Sugar Cookies.
I've also made, in the past little while since my last blog, Cake Truffles, Chicken Pot Pies, Mexican Salsa Chicken and those delicious biscuits from Red Lobster. Tonight we had some Poor Man's Tuna Noodle Casserole. Delicious! :)
So, the lack of posts is due to no internet at our house, and when I do get the chance to use the internet, mainly at the laundromat, I kind of forget to clue everyone in.
I'll try my best to be better. :) Not saying I'll be doing amazing at it, but it won't be a month to month posting.
If anyone has any questions about what's going on, feel free to leave us a comment, and I'll answer them as soon as I can. :)
Toodles!

Goodies
The last little while I've been making it a habit to make some sort of dessert. Sure, Miguel and I don't really need to eat delicious desserts, but I need to learn to make them before little ones are running around. ;)
I started off with Oatmeal Pumpkin cookies. They were such a pain to make, only because I'm missing a few kitchen tools like a sifter (which I don't really need, but it would be handy), larger mixing bowls, more kitchen counter space and a mixer. Not a hand mixer, we own three, but a real mixer. Hey, a girl can dream. ;)
Miguel loved them though. He thought they were delicious. The last batch we made though, he left in the oven too long and the bottom of it burnt. So, it's now my job to remove the burnt bottom so they are the same tasty treat as before.
Next, I made homemade Oreos. Man oh man. I am in love with homemade Oreos ever since my friend McKinsey's mom made a batch, and I was able to try some. Love at first bite.
These weren't as difficult, but Miguel now has a fear of using the hand mixer for any job. :) Let's just say that it's pretty funny when powdered sugar flies everywhere except inside of the bowl, and Miguel is covered in the soft sugary goodness. ;) Okay, not totally covered, but you get the idea. We made the cream cheese filling, and since then we've had to limit our cookie intake. That filling is pretty, uh, fattening. But, all the same, it's soo good.
Lastly, for this week I hope, I made a cake. Yes a wonderfully designed cake of all possible goodness. Okay, I'm just trying to boost up my cake making ability feelings. It's not the best looking cake, but I hope it tastes amazing. Here's the catcher though, it has peach frosting on it. Yes, peach frosting. :) It's delicious! Minus the fact that there is a little too much sugar on it, and it was runny last night, it seems to be just fine on the cake. I might need to practice making frosting, but I do like the peach flavor, as does Miguel.
I have a two other recipes to try out this week, but I'm not sure if I'm up to making anything with sugar in it. ;)
I think I'll just work on my cooking skills. Which, by the way, aren't that bad. When Miguel tells me to experiment, oh, I experiment. ;) Thank goodness for the notebook I'm filling up with yummy food directions and ingredients.

Woah...
...It's been awhile friends and family. I know, it's been a little too long since we've posted about the wondrous adventures in our lives... ;)
Well, where to start...
Ambria hasn't made a successful loaf of bread since the last post. It will happen though! As soon as I get my thermometer...
Miguel has been excelling in his classes, despite the lack of interest while being in class. He finds himself in the Math Lab and in the Hub more than he does at home. But, he still finds time to spend with me. Thank goodness for a happy wifey, right?
We've spent sometime down in South Jordan with my side of the family. As always, we've had oodles of fun. We even went Halloween costume browsing. Pictures of Miguel will soon follow.
As a side note, Pandora has lifted their 40hr ban of free music enjoyment! My life is (almost) complete. :) Well, when it comes to music....
Now back to the good stuff...
We haven't been up to much. We've been on a few dates around town. We ended up going to a play at the Black Box Theater here at USU and had Root Beer Freezes at A&W earlier that day. Two nights later, Miguel took us to a reasonably priced Japanese place where we ate amazing food. Not too shabby.
Miguel and I have taken to doing laundry together. Yes, bonus points for me. I know longer have to venture off to the laundromat all by myself. Yay!
We finally ended up getting our Wedding Photos from our lovely photographer, Kami. I have sorted through the ones I wanted and sent in the lengthy application for editing... ;) Hahaha right. She'll get them edited when she has the time. Don't worry though, I'll post some on here, but the rest can be found on Facebook. (As they are downloading right now...all 145 of them. If you think that's bad, I had to sort through 905. She thankfully knocked out a couple hundred of the duplicates and blurry pictures.)
Now to just wait for Miguel to finish with classes. Just one more for the day, and we are all set to go home, cuddle up in sweats with hot chocolate and maybe a good movie. Sweet. Thank goodness of cold weather... sometimes... ;)
Tah tah for now.

1st Bread Experience
On my list of things to do today was make dinner. Not just a quick meal, but a pretty nice meal. Ginger, Sesame, Orange Chicken with squash and Homemade Bread. Oh yeah!
Well, I didn't know Miguel was planning on eating homemade bread before work, so it's a good thing our lovely family gave us a bread maker! Shout out to Uncle Dan and Aunt Ronda. :)
I made an express bread, which was better than I expected it to be. I am going to try a normal loaf, but I am quite pleased with not only my Oster Bread Maker, but me!
Now that Mike has so willing taken Miguel to work in exchange for his dinner, it's clean up time. ;)

Update #2
Saturday sometimes sums up to a full work day and then just relaxing at home with the hubby. But, after working all day long, Ambria came home to a wonderfully clean bedroom, kitchen and bathroom that Miguel had worked on all day. During this time he invited Garrett and Caisa over to help him put up the curtains and hang our wall decor. :) Ambria was super surprised, and couldn't help but smother Miguel in kisses. *Yes, we still kiss, but what's new. ;)* Our apartment has started to look homey now, and we actually want to go home and spend time together.
After the little surprise, nap time ensued. No surprise there either! We have taken after our parents when it comes to naps. We just can't enough of them.
We had decided to go on a date with our cute married couple, Garrett and Caisa, that night as well. At 5:40 we met at the Logan Temple, which is super gorgeous by the way, and since the 6pm session was so crowded we ended up sitting in the chapel for quite sometime. But, it gave us an opportunity to spend a lot of time together, thinking and pondering our questions that we have had in our relationship the past little while. After a wonderful 6:30pm session with our fun loving couple, we made it over to Pizza Pie Cafe where they were having a special on their buffet. Such good pizza! :) I think Miguel stuffed himself silly... hahaha. I think we both like the variety of pizza that they have there, especially their dessert pizza.
Soon as dinner was done, we changed out of our dressy clothes into some grubbies for a finale of the Flour Tower game. The game consists of packing flour into a tower, placing a penny on top, and then cutting away the flour in hopes of some poor soul accidentally splitting the tower and having the penny fall off. When the penny falls off, the poor soul has to then push the penny towards the edge of the surface the tower was placed on with their nose! Miguel lost 3 times, and was covered in flour by the time we left. I only lost once, and the was the last one to lose as well. Yep, I'm a skilled Flour Tower player, I guess you could say. :)
I'll post some pictures and videos off of my as soon I as I get them off of my phone. :)

Update #1
So, it's been a while since we've seen everyone who participated in our wedding. Mainly because mostly everyone lives in Oregon who helped out, but we do appreciate all that you did for us.
Miguel and I have been married for over a month now, a month and 2 days to be exact, and we couldn't be happier. Truly, it's been the best decision that we have made.
Now to keep those who are wondering what we have been up to in the last month or so, I will go over a brief overview of our life (school, social & work consumed):
School: Miguel is taking 13 or 14 so credits in Aeronautical Engineering, and for those of you who know about engineering classes, I never see him. He has class every day starting MWF at 8:30am and TR at 10:00am. He has been overloaded with homework galore, and still manages to find time to spend with his wifey everyday. :)
Ambria, that's me, actually can't decide what she wants to do with her life. She is taking a break from school so she can help support our little family of 2. We'll keep you up to date with how that is going.
Social: We both are still pretty active with our social life, for the most part. Both of us still hang out with our pals from last semester.
Ambria went on an adventure with Caisa Shoop last night. She went to a Salsa & Chip and then Zumba later that night. It was so much fun! But, she didn't realize that she was pretty out of shape. Hahaha
Miguel plays with Garrett Shoop and Mike Greer on a regular basis, whether that is at school or when we have a little bit of time off. Movies or playing at the park are the in activities for the boys. That, or going through the drive-thru at Carl's Jr at midnight.
Work: Both of us are working at the moment. Miguel is working at Fox's Pizza Den MWF and some Saturdays really late at night; Ambria is still working for Avis Fridays and Saturdays. She is currently searching for a new job that will help sustain both of us for the next little while. But, it will happen, just as long as we are doing what is the most correct. :)
We still need to write our "Thank You" Cards to everyone that sent us a wedding gift... Oops. It will happen though. We promise! :)
So for now, we are just playing it by ear and learning to love and grow up with one another.
Toodles,
Ambria & Miguel
And For That Brief Moment, Everyone Thought We Were Gone...
Dear Everyone Who Thought We Fell Off The Face of the Universe,
We decided that we would show you that we haven't disappeared, but are still alive and kickin'.
School has decided to take over our lives as well as work. Married life has consumed a lot of our social life as well (minus the time we want to use Garrett & Caisa's internet and invite Mike over for the ride).
Don't worry though. This blog was intended to help you recover from our brief moment of absence, and we hope you enjoy it!
Love,
Miguel & Ambria
